Taking out a more chubby version of a Biandeng to serve a few more people than usual… a welcome excuse to feed this lovely Zhuni clay.

Thank you; here's a photo of its observe side. It looks better in person, I think (especially when it starts glowing once it's brewing something).

I tried it with a few kinds of tea, but for me, it seems to like medium-roasted styles of yancha, as well as the very few times that I've fed it some dancong (which I just don't drink very often.

I don't have many pots to share, but I suppose that I should do so whenever I'm fortunate enough to manage to get my hands on something special, and I'll try to do so more often. Only a few that I haven't disclosed yet...

If the larger one is in the typical size of this style, the other must be really small! Never seen this design either.
Large looks like a copy of a popular F1 style.

hello

i bought a yixing teapot from Ebay:

in the description the seller say it is made of a clay called taohua ni (peach blossom).
when i chatted with him, he claimed it is 100% yixing, raw ore.

wanted to consult with you here... does the description of this product make sense? have i been scamed?

also, look at the pictures of the teapot. in one picture (second one), it looks very different from the other. the seller said it is due to camera vs phone picture and he says the second picture is actually looking closer to how the teapot looks like in reality.

Please would love to get your opinions!

Value of this clay is known to those who have a good knowledge of Yixing Clay,You may never have seen it, and you may never have a chance to see it. I promiss You will never regret buying now.

This teapot dries soon after pouring boiled water, with white steam around, no clay else can match it!!

Descriptions like this sound like a big red flag to me by itself, no matter the product on offer. Never heard of this ore... @Youzi maybe?
Looks like some random modern blend of Duanni to me. Price is sort of acceptable for a "normal" teapot. If any of the claims were true, it would carry a much heftier price tag.

So, probably a slightly overpriced, ok to use pot.

Looks odd.

The patina outside raises some question marks for me, as does the workmanship... can be due to the size as these are usually not that small. Inside hints to low grade clay. Overall I'm not so sure about this one.

This thread has been a joy whenever I stumbled over it in the past, so today I am joining the forum with this recent modern Shuiping addition - it only had about a week's worth of sheng at this point.

It was marketed as a 90ml (but measures exactly 100ml) Zhuni Dahongpao:
