Yixing
Patina...
It's not often that we get to compare two almost-identical teapots, one used and one clean, side-by-side.
To me, it sometimes feels a little bit like this part of the forum became more of an 'is it fake?' page over time, and less of a place for everyone to feel free simply to show photos of their teapots, which is a shame (even if the former aspect is important for people who post those queries, as well as being a useful learning tool for everyone else). But that said, sometimes teapots get shown in some other topics while they're brewing something.

Interesting indeed... Are you using it for brewing, as a pitcher, or just for resting or pouring water? I'd hate to try to get wet leaves out of something like that.
I assume that no-one uses Yixing for sake or baijiu, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong...
Andrew
I know for a fact that some do use Yixing pots for baijiu, but no idea if it's widespread or only a small "nouveau riche" thing.
Also, there's a company that stores their baijius (or at least their premium line) in yixing jars for years before bottling.
It's really normal for someone who focus on selling modern tea pot in Taiwan. They use yixing tea pot with GaoLiang (kind of baijiu).
And yes, I also saw a really rich man use song bowl to drink GaoLiang.
A yixing hohin that I was told is likely from roc. Made some effort to clean here.

Lid seems redder than body so I wonder if it's mismatched. Volume to the filter holes is 45 ml.
Seems to have very little heat retention. Pour is bad due to badly constructed spout.
Will use for gyokuro as this item was probably intended for

Not aware of any sources claiming either way. I'd recon it's a on-demand order from Japanese merchants. Just like they required filters for Yixing and F1 developed that pigeon spout especially for that market. Yixing has always been mass production and export all over the place.
Nice little hohin. From my understanding, lids were fired separate from the body and matched later. It is common that the lid is fired at different temperature (usually lower, it seems, or maybe it's just a coincidence) due to a different placement in the kiln, leading to some color mismatch.
In the photo below the lid on the left teapot looks to be the same clay but a big difference in firing temperature (the body is very high fired with some bubbles, the lid is slightly underfired). On the other hand, on the grey pot, under a close inspection, the lid is actually a bit different type of clay (the body looks more close to duanni while the lid has a bit more of purplish zini in the mix)...
