Hello
I have just joined the forum.
I am a British resident in France and a lifelong practitioner of Taoist arts and Chinese medicine, now approaching retirement age but still very active.
Tea was an essential part of lessons with my qigong and martial arts teachers which led to a long-term passion for tea. I have been lucky to study Cha Dao with several masters from China and Taiwan.
I enjoy gongfu tea and also simpler ways of serving tea. The beginning of each day for me is a meditative tea ceremony... a wonderful peaceful way to start the day.
I enjoy most teas but have a particular fondness for Taiwan oolongs and for sencha.
Since I tend to drink alone, I am looking forward to interacting with other followers of Cha Dao.

A few months ago, I realized my morning coffee wasn’t doing me any favors. Sure, it gave me a quick boost, but that was always followed by a crash — leaving me feeling jittery, tired, and even a little anxious.
While searching for a better way to start my day, I stumbled upon yerba maté. I’d heard about it before, but never really looked into it. Until one evening, when I found this article, which explained everything I needed to know about yerba maté — what it is, why people drink it, and all the incredible benefits it offers.
Curious, I gave it a try. And honestly? It changed my mornings completely.
Yerba maté gives me:
• A steady, clean energy boost — without the crash
• Improved focus and mental clarity
• A feeling of calm alertness, instead of coffee jitters
Plus, it’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. I love that it’s a natural, plant-based drink with centuries of tradition behind it, especially in South America where drinking yerba maté is a daily ritual for so many people.
Now, every morning, I make myself a cup of yerba maté — sometimes the traditional way with a gourd and bombilla, sometimes simply brewed like tea. Either way, it’s my new ritual for a focused, energized start to the day.
If you’re curious too, you can read the full article that inspired me here.
Maybe it will inspire you like it inspired me.
