Did the taste match the deep green of the leaf?
I need to make a gyokuro my next morning tea.

It’s an amazing one and wish I grabbed more. It was my first time trying “competition” gyokuro. Going through the last of what I have and already looking forward to the new season.
Your post prompted me to make the shocking discovery that I only have one package of gyokuro left. I'd had an excess for so long that it was quite a surprise. That means I've got an excuse to order *more*.

Just had one of those, "wow, you're so nice, why have you been sitting in the back of the cupboard?" sessions with some Gogucha from Kim Se Jin via Morning Crane's Tea Buy Korea. So floral, delicate, sweet at first, and with later infusions, still just a wonderful delicacy and very subtle bitterness. Swoon. Only enough leaf left for one more, because I only bought a small quantity. Note to self, if available next time, buy a lot more of this--because this is so lovely even though it has been sitting opened for an unknown time, and was purchased several years ago.

Sofu Sencha from Honyama - Thes du Japon

I've been trying different sencha from Den's for quite some time now. Their Fukamidori, a medium steamed sencha from Shizuoka, became my daily drinker a few months back. ~4.5g per ~100ml, 160F 90s, 180F 60s, 212F 90s.
Today I couldn't resist trying the nice tulip shaped porcelain cup @ferg was kind enough to give me. Seeing the bright yellow-green sencha against the white porcelain was a pleasure, and it brings out aroma vs. my hagi yunomis.
Sweet, grassy, and a bit vegetal. I like to underpour the first infusion to enhance the nutty flavors, or, lately, fruitiness. The second is more floral, while the third has citrus notes. A great value.

today I'm starting with some organic kabusecha from O-cha: it's my first time with this one in quite a while, and I haven't got it dialed in yet for time and temps. still, pleasingly vegetal, a hint of astringency, and taste buds are pleased.

This one looks good! I’ve browsed o-cha before but never purchased there. How do you like them overall? I have looked at their gyokuro selection a few times but I have yet to finally check them out.
i've enjoyed multiple tease from them over more than a few years now, and they are my go to for Japanese greens when I have a craving for something that is not part of my Obubu Tea Farm subscription. I particularly like that they have some Tsuen teas that are otherwise very hard to get, because Tsuen doesn't have their own western facing website for online orders.

Good info. I had no idea that Tseun teas were available on their site. Do they normally send out preorders for the new season? I just made a profile and signed up for their mailing list.
