thanks! the small spout means it doesn't exactly lightning pour. but since it also works well holding the leaf back from the single hole opening and its going to be for LB anyway pour speed isn't a big issue so it works out well.steanze wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:43 pmFun shape! I really like the darker shades of zini.wave_code wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 4:41 pmNew to me 90s DCQ. Tried it out today with some HK wet storage sheng and it worked out pretty decent, but it's with liu bao where it really shines. Def will be trying to get my hands on more of this clay to compare different firings and production periods - I'm totally sold on it.
its very shiny, I'm guessing both that and the color being the result of supposed dragon kiln firing. maybe I'm used to all my heavy nixing pots but it also feels very lightweight.
the effect of the clay is really nice - not really muting like my green label QSN, it seems quite neutral compared to a lot of my pots but with a nice little push right in the sweet spot for fermented teas. I also feel like I can taste more complexity/change in the tea brew to brew than my other zini, including even in lower grade teas that are tasty but not exactly full of nuance.
