Got a new/old teapot - made by Gu Jingzhou regarding the bottom seal? Guess it's a fake, but who knows?

Maybe helotea is intersted in it?

Don't know enough about how the clay should look, but seems to me the knob is different/wider in his pots of this style, the top of the handle is never wider than the base of the spout (which also has different proportions), the stamp is also much more evenly applied (or is it an inscription in the originals?). See e,g, https://kknews.cc/zh-sg/collect/3b6rrga.html, https://www.puercn.com/z/1950978/. So my (very uneducated) guess is "obvious fake". Let's see what the educated opinion is .

Looks like helotea material (modern replica) the clay itself is not terrible though, looks like regular modern zini. So on second thought, maybe helotea doesn't want it, the clay is a bit too good.

Is it unused/cleaned? Tiny bit concerned about the sheen of the clay.

Not yet cleaned - received it like that (was little used i guess).
Would you suggest cleaning it with sodium bicarbonate or sodium percarbonate?

Yeah I’d clean it first and see then.

What would you suggest for cleaning? Sodium bicarbonate, because its not that dirty?

Sodium bicarbonate will reset the pot. If the sheen is result of tea oil, it should be sufficient to remove it. Make sure you soak your pot at least 24 hours before cleaning to prevent thermal shock.

@DailyTX Thanks! Cleaned it with sodium bicarbonate (and also the two other F1s)
@Bok It's interessting how different a teapot can look like on various pictures, but it looks less shiny after cleaning.
