Interesting, curious which lower end LazyCat RG you are referencing? Space Cat is great! not lower end though. Who is TXS?Youzi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 9:31 amI tried quite a few of TXS's yancha in the past weeks.
So far, and especially with regards to RG, their higher end teas are better "value" for the money, than their cheaper teas. I think in the lower end Lazy Cat is leading with quite a big margin, in the price to performance game. Especially with their Rougui.
Yancha lovers?
Yes.... Lazy Cat's Space Cat is pretty decent for a good cup of YanCha.Victoria wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 10:33 amInteresting, curious which lower end LazyCat RG you are referencing? I haven't had the chance to try space cat yet, cuz it's always out of stock. Ofc, I mean their Banyan RG, it's really good as a daily drinker RG, and for the price unbeatable.Victoria wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 10:33 amInteresting, curious which lower end LazyCat RG you are referencing? I'm open to hear anymore good rougui vendor recommendations, if someone has better RG's to suggest.
YanCha for the weekend.... 2017 HuiYanKeng RouGui... clean, aromatic, deep flavour. The fragrance of this tea travels and lingers up the nose and down the throat. Leaving the body at a very relaxed state. Calming, clearing the mind and soul.
I have been drinking this tea since 2018. The development is nothing short of amazing. The tea came lightly roasted and fragrance was very prominent during the first year. The roasting aroma dropped over the next 2 years and the underlying "cong wei" surfaced. Leaving a deep mineral taste that is much desired. The aroma and taste of spice grew stronger over the years.
Cheers!

Another round of 2017 HuiYanKeng RouGui... clean, aromatic, deep flavour. Finishing off the last bit in the bag. Leaves are a little crushed at the bottom but still packs a punch! Perfect to help ease the digestive system after a round of mooncakes! hahahaha....
Cheers!!

You use zini for RG? Doesn't it take away too much from the aroma? Or how do you brew it?OCTO wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 8:38 pmAnother round of 2017 HuiYanKeng RouGui... clean, aromatic, deep flavour. Zini is not Zini. There are so many which behave differently than what the consensus saysYouzi wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 6:51 amYou use zini for RG? Doesn't it take away too much from the aroma? I got one fine Zini which is not unlike Zhuni in the way it brews tea...
Yes it’s a 80s DCQ, basically it’s also ZiNi by nature. This specific pot is a good match for YanCha. You are right to say that it takes off a little of the aroma. This brew is the last bottom leaves in the pack. Crush and broken leaves outnumber the whole leaves. Hence, the pot shaved off some of the bitterness and sharp edges, bringing the aroma up to the surface.... I have a regular ZhuNi and HongNi pot for RG....Youzi wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 6:51 amYou use zini for RG? Doesn't it take away too much from the aroma?
