I've seen this in several three friends pot before. Nothing to be alarmed. But the clear and uniform line encircling the inner parameter of the lid is pretty odd.
The inner markings I have not seen before in any three friends pot, but rather very specifically seen on four leg square pots. The smudge like markings appears to be some poorly executed attempts to cover up mistakes, commonly found among poor workmanship pots or a poorly executed repair work.

I always get the odd F1 pots.
The inner markings do indeed look like a repair. But I don't care much about the inside. The outside looks pretty good. From the outer craftsmanship it's the best Three Friends pot I got.

Would you call these circles a bad craftsmanship? I've got three confirmed F1 Shui Ping pots but only one of them has these circles inside. It's not the smallest pot.

That's what Bok said when I first posted this teapot here. I thought that it would look like this because of the small size, but now that I have an even smaller pot I wanted to ask again. Maybe this pot was made by an apprentice.

I posted the pot some time ago. I don't know about it's authenticity, but I liked the painting. Not sure if it's handmade (I guess it is), but definitely not a slip cast pot.@Chadrinkincat has a pot that looks somewhat similar.
At first, I thought that these marks were from the seller, but I have seen multiple pots with similar marks, so I guess it's from something official like customs.

My jar also has a similar mark under the lid. It would be interesting to know the origin of these marks.

I don't know if you remember the book I purchased on Taobao (Tmall) about 45 days ago. Unfortunately, the seller does not ship it, so I had to ask for a refund today. Another reminder not to buy something directly from China even if the seller has good reviews... It's a pity that you cannot buy this book in the West.
I never bought from Taobao but have successfully bought a bunch of tea and teaware direct from China without problems. The only time the merchant was slow in responses was when they were up in the mountain picking teas. I’m sorry you didn’t get your book, but don’t let one incident discourage you!
