As mentioned elsewhere, I had a successful stroll over a Taipei antique/vintage market and some spoils are up for sale...
This pot is tiny, about 52ml capacity. Seal chop reads 5-cups, which shows us how different tea has been consumed in the past. In fact people from CZ still use very, very tiny tea ware! Also has to do with their preferred brewing method, strong and high leaf ratio, consumed in small sips. Basically, the Chinese espresso!
The vintage is from the 1980s.
What really sets this pot apart is that it has a good functional exit hole to the spout on the inside of the body. Many, if not most vintage CZ pots fall short on this and have impracticably small holes. This one pours well!
I repeat myself, but in my experience these CZ pots do outstandingly well with Dancong! They also gather a lovely patina. My other CZ pots do smell wonderfully fragrant after regular use, although I still rinse them with hot water. The flat shape of this one further helps with the leaf shape of Dancong. I have also used the same vintage of pot with other roasted Oolongs, Taiwanese or Yancha, all with good results.
