Lovely pots. Yixing wares prior to 1960s are so fascinating. It feels each pot has more characters. The pot farthest to the right seems very shiny. Has it been polished like those Thailand export Yixing wares? Or maybe just the lighting.

That one is just dirty. There's a bit of "waxy" film on the surface from the previous users. I've just got it, haven't cleaned it yet. But looks to be very lovely chocolatey zini under the dirt.

Some kind of relative. It's a neiziwaihong, unfortunately seriously underfired on the inside.

Hello, I'm new to all of this and have just gotten my first teapot. I'm wondering if this is an actual Yixing teapot. Also, there's an interesting dragon under the lid, and a foo dog on top. There are carved characters on the sides and a seal mark underneath the pot as well. Looks like turquoise speckles throughout that match the little dragons' eyes. Can anyone give me any information about this adorable little pot? I'm really curious to know anything about it. Thanks in advance!

crouching tiger/hidden dragon, same as the Ang Lee movie (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crouching ... den_Dragon), hence a fairly new teapot and I am sorry to say, a low quality expression of it. I got another of this topic gifted a long while ago, similarily dubious clay. Actually a fun topic to do, but haven't seen a well done version of it.
