this is from the very first batch released.
also, not that it matters, but it was the first of firsts with item# TAC001.

it has been used mostly with gyokuro.
there is some tea staining around the rim and spout (can be cleaned with baking soda).

$140 $130 $110 $75 including shipping in USA. i can ship worldwide, but there may be an extra shipping charge.
these sell for ~$160+shipping at hojotea.

includes the cardboard box it came in and i believe a stamped cloth (if it came with one originally).

thanks for looking!

i think the hohin is one of the most practical teapot styles. they are ergonomic and generally have very fast pours. this one is no exception.
pour time: under 3s

it's more porous than porcelain, but beyond that, i don't know how to answer.
it has a noticeable rounding effect. if you've been curious to try japanese reduction-fired clay, this would be a good one imo.
interestingly, in the article i linked to above, hojo recommends this clay for dancong and yancha. i think hohins are perfect for those teas due to the fast pour, but personally i don't like this clay for them as much as porcelain because i don't like to lose any aroma. that's just my personal taste though. maybe you would try it and agree with hojo's preference. i do think that it works well with rich sencha and gyokuro though. it seems to do something good for the mouth and throat feel.
