I am 78 and had never tried tea. I think I am looking for a tea that is spicy, acidic, biting, not sweet. I tried something labeled Bengal Spice and was surprised how sweet it tasted to me.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have to start with a gut feeling, but am open to other paths.
Thanks
looking for spicy
Here people mostly drink ,, natural tea,, so not aromatized or flavoured. Probably some drink and those kinds, I can't speak for everyone. If to speak about pure tea, I could recommend something that is not spicy but bitter/astringent. Young sheng, green tea, some red teas and some white, mostly bai mudan. Note. To make them bitter you will need really hot water and a little bit more tea leaves. Hope this helps.

Spicy? Youd need to add some hot peppers
Acidic? Maybe get some sun dried red tea or white tea
Biting? Cheap Young sheng from yunnan sourcing
Not sweet? So bitter? Add kuding cha (bitter nail herb tea)
welcome
tea (leaf from Camellia genus) isn't spicy. it is often bitter, astringent, or maybe even biting. it is sometimes slightly sweet or tart.
you might like chai? it's black tea brewed with spices.
