Recently, I've got my new yixing teapot. I've found a crack in the bottom while making an examination before seasoning.
Could you please tell me, what do you think about it? Is this crack really significant?

Hard to tell from that picture what crack looks like. If it's a vintage collectible pot than it might be worth keeping at a big discount and use it until it breaks or keep as reference piece. Even than I'd say it's probably better to send back for refund.

99% sure that's a tool-mark, not a crack.
I suspect that if you get a fingernail or toothpick and swipe across it towards the centre of the base, it'll catch on a little lip on the innermost side of the "crack".

It would be good to have a better picture of this « crack » . It could be a tool mark but it could also be a crack as it’s a classical place and shape for a firing-crack due to a slightly too thick bottom of the pot compared to the thickness of the walls. If it doesn’t go through the bottom, it won’t leak or evolve by itself if used normally.
Hi! Thank you very much for your replies. I've caught sunlight today and made the new pictures with my macro lens (from different angles). For me, it really looks like the tool mark but I'll appreciate your mention.

Yes looks like a crease in the clay, not a crack
