Remove PM restrictions on new accounts?

I was wondering if we could remove the restrictions on PMs for new accounts? I totally get why we want to restrict it in the first place (bots, spammers, etc.), but after I posted my introductory post I received a PM from someone in my area wanting to connect. Unfortunately, due to being a new account I actually can't reply! Would hate for this person to think I don't want to get back in touch with them.

however, in a way, restricting PM access for new users is even more important than auditing public messages from an anti-spam perspective because we don't have a mechanism in place (nor would we want one) for monitoring PMs due to their private nature.
if it's any consolation, it doesn't take long for a user to get PM access. don't ask for the specifics of how it happens, but it looks like you have access now
