If your question is mixed in with 672 other posts on a general topic how are you going to get direct responses to your question or even have your question recognized?
I have been a user on this forum for a little while, and while I will not provide advice on the rules you should follow, I suggest you give those longer threads a chance.

These threads have many posts over long periods of time for a reason. They tend to be active, but at a reasonable pace, and see continued attention. I think you will find this forum has many dedicated members that will monitor action on many, if not all threads, and frequently comment. Due to this as well as the rate of posting not being overwhelming, it is very likely your posts will be read by many contributors rather than being buried before being noticed.

I would also add one more thing. Probably has been said here before . Recommendation how to avoid multiple same topics.
Quora has very good system on it for example. When I start to write anything in field where create new topic , it's already giving me some options of previous topics posted based on keyword I typing , so many times it's guiding me to the answer without a creating new , (similar) topic.
Reddit has an Auto-bot, which doesn't works well for everybody and might cause put off some people from further posting.
I understand that fuel for any forum is the new topics being created or the old one being active ( new comments added ) , but with growing community those duplicates might be ignored by regular users and for newbies might create an illusion dead forum.
Referring to FAQ or solid pinned posts on main page doesn't work efficiently ( in my opinion ) either . People in general tend to ask before read , unless searching for the answer immediately .

The background behind the logo at the top is missing, on both mobile and desktop, in multiple browsers.

Hi Admins,

We now receive notices when there is a new reply to a topic we are following; this is VERY helpful. Would it also be possible to send notices when we receive a PM? I think that would be a good step.

Cheers,

D.

it's been brought to my attention by @James Edward that you could only upload 3 image attachments per post. i guess i never noticed before because people would make followup posts to share more images. for convenience, the limit's been raised to 10 attachments per post.

i added an easier way to contact the mods about inactive TeaSwap listings:

first, click the report button on any post in a listing (the exclamation mark button next to the quote button)

then on the report page, there's an option to tell us your listing can be archived:

and if you ever need want a listing re-opened, just pm us

Apropos of a discussion elsewhere (e.g., this one about Telegram group chat) about different forums for perhaps less formal discussion, I have a proposal. I belong to the WELL, one of the original online communities where conversations are organized by topics, like here, which enables conversations to be picked up months or sometimes years after they were last active and continue whenever there is new interest.

But we always seem to need a few free-form topics for ‘drift’. On the old TeaChat, there was a daily topic that always had a poll question but mostly was a place for a daily, chatty, ‘drifty’ check-in. It doesn’t have to draw away from the other specialized topics—when useful threads pop up they can be copied or ported or otherwise redirected to other topics.

Yes, topics can be added into our existing Discord chat (see chat button in upper right). Communitea on Discord has many topics like that. So far, our TF Discord chats have been fluid and change daily. Very active atm and a nice way to say hi and shoot the breeze without the formality and permanence of posting publicly on TF. Also, private messaging members is more fluid on Discord.
