Drinking Vesper Chan's Treasure of Five Mountains from 2018 today. Got this one from HK last Fall. The tea has developed nicely. To tong or not to tong...
On my side I only have a cake or so of their 2012 version of that tea. It has developed very well since then. :D
Very nice! We tried samples of the 2011 version and loved it! Got the 2018 because it's much cheaper
Here hoping it will age well :)

Having some 80s Sheng Mini TuoCha with added Jasmine fragrance. Smooth, aromatic and complex.

Cheers!!
That's a lovely setup, the cups look special. Where did you get them?

EDIT: I just had some 2011 Qiào tóushān, sheng puerh. I'm sure google mistranslated it so I didn't bother searching :P

Brewing my last session of 2018 Tongqinghe. Got distracted and then ate a banana mid-session. Bad move

@klepto

Thanks... I got the cups from a local teashop many years ago. These cups are 70s 五工米通杯 (70s rice grain motif cup). This batch of teacups are specifically identified with 5工 pattern repeated in the rim and a flower at the inner base of the cup. Earlier and later versions are donned with dragons, golden rims and red fire motifs... depending on the year of make.

Cheers!

Got a boat load of samples from sanhetang but sadly there's no english info on the labels. I'll be trying to translate manually while drinking and enjoying :P

How’s the XZH sampling going for you? Any likes/dislikes?

Oh, the samples are great. Problem is that there was no english on the labels and even worse many of the samples are not mentioned on the website at all so I have no idea what I'm drinking. The quality of the leaves is really good and trying some tea blindly can be an adventure in itself :D. I have two cakes and samples coming from EoT but its been stuck in shanghai for like a week and a half :(.

2016 Mengsong raw pu'er tea from Les thes Terre de Ciel in France. If I ever found a sweet and mild tasting youngish sheng tea this is it. :D

2013 Mengku Lincang raw pu'er from a free sample from Les Thes Terre de Ciel in France with a purchase. It is now the end of the sample but still plenty of tea buds making this tea very pleasant beverage to sip grandfather style while working from home. Smooth with a hay aroma from the wet leaves. :)

Sipping tea from a tea sample given to me by a friend. It is Bitterleaf 's Lao Man E' sheng. Usually I do not drink teas from this region as they tend to be too bitter for my taste but this must be their sweeter tasting tea leaves variety. :)

I was wondering how many Pu'erh you usually have on the go at one time. I don't mean opened and in your pumidor or temp controlled storage of choice, rather the jars or tea tins where you store a portion of the tea to be consumed over the next days/weeks.

I only have so many tins and figured I would have a variety of tea in each tin and then one I empty a tin, think of what I want next. I have a tin for my daily Sencha, one for ripe and one for raw. And usually an oolong in another. I also have a spare tin...and I was thinking of adding to it a second ripe tea that I would sometimes drink after dinner when wanting that warmth and strength. Also I could have two ripes in one day, or alternating days, and compare.

Just curious...cheers!

I keep in their wrappers / original packaging. No money left for tea jars 😭 ...too much has been spent on tea and pots.

+1 @pantry
I also just wrap them up and put them in a ziplock bag mainly to prevent tea dust getting everywhere. With cakes/bricks that are too hard, I find just leave them in their original wrapper outside have help to air them and loosen the leaves over time.

Jinkiez!! Was ordering some samples from Wistaria and the languages blended on the website. Very confusing, but on the positive side they have DHL shipping so my lovely samples won't be sitting around for long.

I'd take it, because it has to be better than EMS shipping from China.
