Don't know really! The pots have both zhuni and hongni characteristics in my opinion.
If I had to pick a side, i'd say it is hongni (Maybe aged?).
The one on the left is HongNi, but the clay is so smooth and fine, it has ZhuNi like characteristic. The other pot is Modern ZhuNi (Y2K), silky smooth but lacking the characteristic wrinkles that ZhuNi collectors look for. It's there, but not as visible as on my grandma's face...
Bingo!! Life itself is already very complicated and stressful, let's not make it any harder by debating over clay structural integrity and chemical accuracy.
You can be sure that ZAG does selling nothing else than F1 factory and antiques... the clay is often mentioned in the Chinese description or name. Says Zisha in this case. As to what Zisha is opposed to Hongni, that is a whole other discussion. In any case, this pot is not hongni it seems.karma wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 4:45 amhttp://zishaartgallery.com/product/4%e6 ... b6-za0142/
I can't tell -- is the a green label f1? and this seems to be hongni, but they don't say the clay anywhere? Navigating ZAG is rough.
safe to assume it is zini, or nzwh? either way i've emailed them. trying to get better at identifying this stuff through pictures.Bok wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 7:01 amYou can be sure that ZAG does selling nothing else than F1 factory and antiques... the clay is often mentioned in the Chinese description or name. @karmaBok wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:45 pmkarma it’s not NZWH they do write as much for other pots they have on offer. Some sort of lower fired Zini it seems to me.
I’d say that ZAG is proportionally more expensive for F1 pots than compared to their antiques and compared to F1 from other vendors.
Don’t think you need to buy green label from them, plenty out there from cheaper sources.
Yeah, I like their pots a lot but they seem to not have any green labels in the 120 size I'm looking for and for the price im able to spend. I see people saying green labels are really the only pots that are worth it but I feel like maybe a pot like this will serve me just as well (if I'm not willing to spend over 200)? http://2088taiwan.com//index.php?route= ... duct_id=84 or http://2088taiwan.com//index.php?route= ... uct_id=171DailyTX wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 11:08 pmkarma
Not sure which country you are in, here is another vendor for F1 pots that talked about quite a lot last year:

If I were you I'd rather save up and go for green label or older. As many rightfully suggest, newer factory is best skipped to modern post-factory or earlier.karma wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 11:57 pmYeah, I like their pots a lot but they seem to not have any green labels in the 120 size I'm looking for and for the price im able to spend. Is green label really twice to three times as good as white label? To be quite honest it isn't so much of a "save up" issues as a "can't justify" issue. $300 or so for a first plunge into this world seems quite steep for me, I'd be willing to spend that much if I knew I felt it was worth it -- but not until that point. In my experience so far, it feels like people tend to say whatever price a site is offering pots at is far too high and then turn around and recommend another site offering pots at similar prices. I'm unclear as to what I'm missing.
