Yunomi? Again never ordered from them. Again, been on their email list for years. They have an unusual approach of offering around 1000 Japanese teas. Whereas most vendors make selections of teas they will offer, Yunomi seems to offer anything they can get their hands on.
Thè du Japon? Always an adventure. Their preferred sencha style differs from mine in general making it a challenge to make selections ... further confused by their flowery descriptions.

I also ordered one, enroute as well. Very excited to try this.
I believe I am enjoying shincha as I write this. My most recent tea shipment from Obubu Tea Farm included a small pouch of 'Fresh Tea From Okinawa'. It is a quite pleasing sencha-style tea, with a bit of astringency and not as delicate as, say, their spring sun or Kabuse senchas that I was drinking most recently, but still nicely vegetal and not too sharp.
The one date on the package is 2020.3.20, so I'm guessing they have a cooperative agreement of some kind with an Okinawa tea farm.

I'll have to ask him about the Satsuma. I had asked him, but he was excited about the 20th Anniversary S.E. SM.
At that time, I also made a suggestion about offering a series of 20th Anniversary Special Editions. He thought it was an "interesting idea" ...

I would be interested to know.
It seems most Japanese sencha have a 1 year shelf life, but 3/20/19 seems like a highly improbable harvest or packaging date for a 2019 shincha.

Shincha is in NY! This has made excellent progress. I had figured Tuesday at the earliest or Wednesday.
95% of the time, once it arrives in NY, it will be delivered the next business day ... tomorrow!

Been thinking about this. It is either shincha ... or I think since it was not promoted as shincha, it was aracha pulled out of cold storage, final processed, and packaged on 3/20/19. 1st flush sencha is routinely pulled out of cold storage throughout the year as aracha, final processed, packaged. Very efficient and makes cash flow sense.

. I’m most excited to try his 20th anniversary Sae Midori, his description makes it sound like Satsuma’s creamy umami richness, ‘Lot's of umami, nice velvety mouth-feel’. Yummm.
