here, i show adding additional filter holes to a kyusu using a dental contra-angle drill: Kyusu surgery: Hokujo 130mL anemic pour

my everyday gaiwan is an 80mL handmade one from @mudandleaves
i'm actually on my second one now because i broke and threw away the first.
on this one, i broke the lid nub and cracked the body on separate occasions, and i decided to make some repairs using jb-weld epoxy this time.
i managed to glue the lid back together pretty well, and i can hardly feel the break when i run my finger along the top rim.
for the body, i decided to liberally apply epoxy to the exterior to arrest crack propagation. some of you are probably cringing, but it's on the outside only!
i think it looks pretty cool. it has character now, and i'll try to keep this one going as long as i can.
(btw, the gaiwan isn't blue. that's just color cast from spot-illuminating the front with a high color temp LED.)

Nice idea to put colorful glue on outside only to hold off further cracking. Looks really nice. I’m slowly, well way too slowly, repairing a few lids and finished repairing an eggshell 18thc cup with J-B Weld. Can’t see the original breakage areas. Will post pictures soon.

Would love to see the underside of that lid. So they drill little holes for staples to go through? Beautiful.

Happened a while ago: first and only time a pot slipped and broke the spout. Was one of my self-made pots and at that time one of the ones I was more happy about...
In the end I grinded and sanded it until the spout looked presentable again. In the end and after some heavy use, I actually like it better that way now! You never know what some mishaps are good for
