I love that second pot - unfortunately I don't have the hundred to spare at the moment, but if you still want to sell it a month or two from now, I'd be interested.

In my experience, no problem at all. I only use this kind of wood-fired pots and greener oolongs are my staple tea. As well as the potter who created this pot. If you are worried about muting, fear not, the extended firing lets the pots extend and shrink a few times and afterwards they are as sealed as if they were glazed.

You will find this kind of pots in use all over Taiwan, kind of the alternative to Yixing in these parts if you like a bit more wabisabi at the tea table :mrgreen:

Personally, I also like the concept of using a pot made from the earth that the tea is grown in - more or less...

The top view is so beautiful, but I have not learned to appreciate the burnt speckle look on the lower portion.

Wood fired pots often have this kind of duality, some parts very delicate, some rough.
