Hello,
Haven't been around for awhile. I'm looking for 2-3 other people to participate in a group buy from Teas We Like. Myself and one other user on Instagram are interested in sharing some cakes.
Currently, we're both interested in:
2001 Zhongcha Huangyin
2004 Nanqiao Bulang King
But, if we got more people, we'd probably add 1-3 more cakes to the order.
We'll do a PayPal or Venmo and then I'll distribute the cake fractions. I have trading experience here and some flair on Reddit Teaexchange.
Cheers!
Tom

Tried sending PM but not sure why I can't. 1/3-1/4 split is too much for me right now. If there is interest in including me in a smaller portion, I'd be interested in about 50g of the following teas. If that's too little tea no worries
2004 Nanqiao Bulang King
2003 Hong Kong Henry “Conscientious Prescription” 7542
2005 Bulang Double Lion
2019 Biyun Hao Lishan Gongcha
I already have 2001 Zhongcha Huangyin so count me out on that one.

In this situation, express interest by publicly posting in the item's topic and contact the staff for help.

FYI, I've got scattered interest across 3 platforms. Most cohesive summary here: https://www.reddit.com/r/teaexchange/co ... group_buy/
If I can get one or two more people, though, I think we'll have enough.

I currently own quite a few of their cakes (Conscientious Prescription, Huangyin, Lishan Gongshan, Shanzong Chuanqi, 8582) and would be willing to do a sample or partial cake trade...but I just don't have the flexibility to make it to the post office during business hours any time soon.
EDIT: I would consider a partial cake purchase or a sample of the Naked Yiwu, Double Lion, and Bulang King. I'd be happy with a small sample.

I would seriously consider buying an entire piece instead of breaking it up in a group buy. Reason is very simple, puerh grows with you over the years. Important is to have a trusted vendor and I am very confident @Teas We Like is in the good books of many tea enthusiasts in the west. You may not like the tea at the point of purchase, you might end up loving it 10 or 20 years down the road... who knows? That’s the beauty of PuErh done right.
Cheers!!

Lots of reasons to participate in group buy, social interaction, making new friends that like tea, getting a nice chunk of a tea to sample. And as far as 10 to 20 years down the road, never gonna happen here unless I buy at least two bings of the tea. If I find a tea that I like that much, those two bings are going to get drank rather than sit around. I might not be here in 10 years to drink them.OCTO wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 1:30 amI would seriously consider buying an entire piece instead of breaking it up in a group buy. There can be group buys of people purchasing entire pieces, those are not opposites. For less experienced people like me, the process of seeing tea selection discussed, recommendations being made, and eventually sharing tasting notes of the same teas, is a real bonus, even if purchasing something in the same amount and at the same price normally offered by the vendor.
Due to my location, I do not have the occasion to try a variety of teas to narrow down what I like without committing to whole cakes. Guidance in the form of group purchases can be an added value to me, as long as it is not just inexperienced drinkers like me converging to a random selection.
