Hi everyone.
Does anyone know what happened with Shawn from above ceramic studio's? Since today the Etsy store can't be found, and the user neither..

He is posting on his Facebook page (Shawn McGuire). If you want to reach him I’d try messaging him vía FB.

Maybe there was a blip in the system. I found his Etsy page available just now.

Hi Everyone,
I just got a message back (well somewhere last night, but I only came back home now:). Seems he switched some things around and accidentally wasn't being found on Etsy anymore, now its back. And my heart raced for no reason.
I was almost going to dedicate this topic to his work if he were gone for good. I'm also a big fan of Shawn's work, i have a bunch of it.

One of my favorite pieces is this shib. Shawn was using a crawling glaze d on this piece it looks to me as if it was painted on by a calligrapher. No point in not getting a beautiful cup from the same firing, so here are 2 views of this set. Like all of Shawn’s pieces the tea ware works. I use this set for genmaicha and the rim stays cool and the shib is easy to manage even with boiling water.

What a beautiful textural set
@Janice. Also, your rattan mat is awesome.

When I was in Thailand visiting my son and traveling around we stopped in a village of basket weavers. I got to try my hand at weaving and then found these hot pads in the village shop. The round one makes a perfect cushion on the ceramic tray and hot pads take up very little room in luggage.

I had a similar but not quite so nice shino shibo from Shawn that met an early demise courtesy of a tile floor and cat. Your set is lovely.

I just ordered two bowls from his etsy a week ago and have received no shipping notification, and no reply to my messages to him. I guess he's been inactive for quite a while? I hope he gets back to me.....

I just received my order. I did get a notification that my order was going to be a little late. As consolation, Shawn kindly added a lovely cup to my order..even though the order really was not late at all. Talk about great customer service...and stunning work.

I really love his work. We always have 1 of his 'fair cups' in our rotation!

I would love to see pictures of the 'fair cups' and any other pieces by Shawn. I will try and get some pictures pf my cups and jar during my next tea session.
I just discovered Shawn's work..this was my first order. I was blown away by his pieces....they have a presence and structure that, despite excellent picturess on his site, really need to be seen and handled in person. My budget is pretty skimpy but I plan to get some more of his pottery soon. Speaking of budget, I think his work is way under priced for the quality.
