Very nice!

One of the better things about being forced to work from home all the time--I have access to all my tea and teaware, not just my office stash. :)

I haven't got matcha at work, but I do have Novak & Randova teawares in both places. TAD!

For anyone who has admired the tea tray from Mirka featured in most of my tea photos, one is available on their Pots and Tea Club site here.

Beautiful piece. Love the moss green effect on the ‘wooden’ top. I’m assuming that is wood coated with something?

I think it is sculpted ceramic made to look like wood. The other photos on the web site make it clearer.

Was so tempted to get that one, it really is a beautiful object, full of subtle variegated kiln changes and movement. A work of art. Alas, it is now sold. Just in terms of noise reduction when teaware is placed on it, I think I’d prefer an actual wood top though. With tinnitus, I’ve found noise to be a big issue when objects are rested on surfaces, that’s why I use fabric swatches and cork coasters everywhere.

I do have ceramic on ceramic noise with my tea trays, but after watching several wood & bamboo trays disintegrate, I am happy with my sturdy but sadly noisy ceramic tables--and with coasters including fine fabric ones for away from the tea table.

I do see a lot of tea boats built with wood inserts lately, including some from Petr or Mirka with wood from Ondra Sedlák like this one with gorgeous curly grained wood (drool):

I haven't seen any in this style large enough to accomodate the several pots with long/cool last infusions etc; and for me, the cat factor and risk of toppling that wood insert outweights the drool factor of that gorgeous curly grained wood.

Beautiful made-to-order Flameproof Sidehandle from a friend with skillful hands. Can't wait to break it in, and pour many bowls!

Does anyone know whether Petr takes requests as his partner does? Hoping to have a few teacups made and it doesn't seem that he's released anything new in some time.

Petr takes orders, you can email him (or PM on Instagram if you’re there). Be prepared for a wait of several months, though, as his work is very popular. :)

Glad to hear that! I'll be sure to reach out to him.

I reached out and Petr was extremely gracious! He said he'd be able to make some teacups in the style of this Chawan, which I just love:

Really looking forward to seeing how things turn out!
