The pictures show a tea plantation in Reunion island left abandoned in the 70's and transformed into a labyrinth a few years ago. Reunion island is a french island located between Madagascar and Mauritus island.
French started black tea production in the 50's with kenya seeds and but labor cost was too high and the production ceased in the 70's.

Back in the days they planted something like 350 hectares (about 800 acres) in the island and this plantation of about 3 hectares is one of the few remain of this period, and now the only place where tea is produced in france.
They use something like 1 hectare as an actual tea plantation to produce green and white tea, the rest is a real tea forest and was transformed into a labyrinth with tea trees going as high as 10 meters.

Reunion island is also known for vanilla, coffee, sugarcane and lot of fruits (lytchee pineapples ... )
