…that is how they called this weekend long event where I had a successful stroll, last Sunday.

It was in the Songyan Culture Park, an repurposed Cigar factory from the Japanese colonial time, a very fitting place to host such an event.

There are frequent exhibitions and markets there on the weekends, yet mostly it is the kind where you browse over-priced things that you do not really need and end up buying nothing. Not in this case. Antique and vintage shops all over Taiwan had come to set up shop(well, stand actually).

I would say it was a good mix of everything:
_Proper antiques, priced accordingly: Late Qing and ROC period wares from Yixing, porcelain and related tea- and wood ware.
_Vintage stuff, some priced very reasonable, some the obvious flea market rubbish and fakes
_Aged teas along some small food offerings
_New stuff
in addition, they had some tea tasting, music and other events. But I was too late for any of that on Sunday.

The whole hall not large, yet filled to a satisfying extent for leisurely browsing. You would want to make sure to do a few rounds as not to miss a nice item. The Yamada Jozan III spotted, I only saw after passing the third time!

Sellers would allow a little price haggling, which is not common place in Taiwan. A price is a price, usually little room to manoeuvre. Not like the start at 1/3 of a Turkish bazaar.

Also got me these very cute vintage glass cups, old style Taiwanese. Small as shot glasses and so lovely in their ruggedness and slightly different tints.

I heard one seller say this is going to be a more than once a year thing, so I’ll definitely be back! If anyone happens to be in Taipei at that precise weekend, it is definitely worth the visit. Entrance fee: 100NTD

Sounds like a great time. Nice cups! Are those cups used for rice wine?

I am not sure, more likely Gaoliang, a high percentage liqueur.
