Half an hour or so ago I poured out a last long overnight infusion of Da Hong Pao from a small pot into a large cup. Having freed up space to start another session, I opened a bag of mystery green Japanese tea, and prepared a first infusion, and poured it into the same cup. Turns out this vegetal mystery green loves some rock-taste undertones. Oh my.....

i do think there is probably something to the sencha+yancha combo.
not really serendipitous in my case, but sencha+dancong can be good. i was playing around with it a couple of years ago but can't remember where i ended up on the sencha:dancong ratio and temp/time parameters.
