What is your absolute favorite one that would work well for either black or oolong?

I want to order one but don't know which?

I prefer red clay.

Yeah, leaning towards the Akitsu Mumyoi. I did not realize it was discussed here before so I'm reading all the info I can before I order.

Akitsu is not akitsu. Originally for tozo it is clay from airport area that used to be near lake collected a long time ago. I think tozo ran out recently and has been collecting clay from the mountain but still calling it akitsu - the colors are different now. Most people here have experience with the airport clay. Haven't heard anything about the mountain clay

Also older airport versus newer airport are different. Been told older one is a bit more muting as he was mixing it with something else and couldn't do 100% airport for technical reasons. Eventually he overcame it somehow

Cheers

Thanks Leo, very helpful.

I'm still undecided so I'll give it some more time. What do you think of Sado Mumyoi Joaka Clay Teapot by Watanabe Tozo?
