NYTimes Article: Increasing Prices of The Great Wines

Title of the article is
"How Income Inequality Has Erased Your Chance to Drink the Great Wines."
It reminds me we are lucky that most "great" teas are still somewhat affordable, by comparison to wines.
Yes, prices have been increasing, but at least, we don't have to pony up $1000 to $5000 for a single session of a world class tea. One can drink stellar tea every day for say $100-200/month, sometimes even a bit less.

yes, if you try hard, how much can you even spend on a session? $100? it's hard to even find teas more expensive than 20usd/g for me at least.
the same isn't true for wine. not even close.

Relative to the cost of other pleasures, tea cost close to nothing. The best time to remember this is when one knows that I very good tea can be purchased. We should remember a glass of tea usually costs a lot than a glass of wine, whisky, etc.
It took me a long time to be willing to pay $1 per gram for tea. (I still hesitate to pay $1 per gram for a tea that is not 4 x better than a similar tea that sells for 25 cents per gram.)
For a week now, I have been using my 50ml teapots. I am using about 3/4 of a gram to 1 gram of leaves to flash-brew several infusion which I combine. 4 - 7 rounds of this preparation provide 6 - 10 ounces of pleasure. The teas that I drink cost $.25 to $1 per gram which means my average cost for a full cup of tea is about 60 cents.
Anyone drink wine that costs 60 cents a glass?

Never had two buck chuck? I wouldn't necessarily call it good, but it is wine. And not as bad as you might think for the price.

You'd think that at such relative affordability compared to alchohol based beverages tea could at least be carcinogenic. Pinch me, am I dreaming?
