What happened to Kit Boey Chow?

He was the co-author with Ione Kramer of "All the Tea in China", a great English-language snapshot of the Chinese tea world in 1990. Ione spent 30 years in China as a journalist for China Reconstructs, and contributed to All the Tea in China in her retirement; she died in 2008. However, I have a little more trouble finding out what happened to Kit Chow. Does anyone have any clues?

No luck, but WorldCat gives his birth year as 1938, so he would be around 82 now, if still alive.
