Hey all,

Just wanted to show you guys my new tea blog and hopefully start some discussions. I decided to start the blog due to some other bloggers running out of ideas :lol: . I still think there's plenty to write about in terms of tea! So here it is:

Hope you enjoy the reading. And I look forward to using teaforum more and talking to everyone!

Just an update, I've made a bunch of posts. The most recent post is about a tea meetup I just had with my friend Joey. Might be fun to read!

Very nice pictures. I love the simplicity and elegant feeling they are imbued with.

Here's a new post on Jiří Lang's teaware, which I consider very underrated.

Discussion appreciated if you are so inclined!

I have a jiri pot bought at the very beginning of my loose leaf tea journey, two years ago. It was used many times but has since mostly gone into retirement. It is glazed inside so I don't get the beneficial effects you mention and I've since come to really appreciate a nice stream when pouring and unfortunately my piece does not have the nicest pour. Of course the pour is not everything, but as it's glazed and I favor other glazed pots I have, it doesn't see much use. I liked his design aesthetic back then and I really like the new pots on Sk. It seems he's change the spout design and your pot does indeed have a much nicer pour than mine. Maybe someday I'll buy another one of his pieces, unglazed this time, to experiment with its effects. For now, I'm mostly on the hunt for old yixing when it comes to teaware.

Nice teaware, however the body rim design as well as the lid is quite common among Japanese teapots. European potters tend to study them quite a bit.

Difficult to re-invent the wheel!

Ah, I see! It's a clever implementation then.

Here’s the analysis of your Fox Ledge spring water. While not listed in the analysis someone online said it had a TDS of 38, which if correct would give it a very light mouthfeel.

@Victoria may find this interesting.

The mouthfeel is much richer than expected. Something is very right about this water! See if the analysis points to something unusual, or some quality in common with waters the community generally likes.

Your description of the water sounds like it is much thicker than the 38 TDS I saw mentioned online. Can you verify the TDS?

38 is not that low of a tds, especially with a total hardness of 25. Icelandic glacial water, while it has a tds of 62, the total hardness is 26 - almost identical.
