As long as I take enjoyment in the tea as I drink it, whether it is a lightly registered pleasure at the flavor as I sip, or a deeper pleasure in the scent, sight, texture and flavor of the tea, it feels proper to me. And if I can share it, even better.

I know that most of us here already had the perfect cup of tea many times, not because of "proper" brewing parameters, but because of the simple joy (an almost childish joy) we experienced in our hearts at that moment.
IMHO, that is the proper way to drink tea.

Notwithstanding that some teas, if not prepared in a certain way do not show their full potential, thus are being wasted ;)
