Sencha is a meditative experience.

日々是好日

Partaking of a fine cup of tea, a bowl of matcha, leaves simmered 2-3 rounds...

The drink heats your body and enlightens your mind- it grounds you while sending a supple, dualistic dose of caffeine and L-Theanine into your system; the 2 work in synchronistic harmony- your senses are drawn inward and a state of peaceful relaxation is acclimated with the gentle wave of caffeine.

Like break and accelerator oddly working in harmonic conjunction, like your autonomous nervous system switching into the parasympathetic branch (副交感神経) you find a sense of calm with every cup of tea- from ritual preparation to intake...

Sencha is inseparable from the culture it springs forth from. The heart beat of nature and farmer’s machines, the buzzing rhythm of shiage and drum roast...

Like the energized ions and “chi” carried in fresh air blowing from rivers, lakes, and mountains, Sencha so comes from the soil and water carefully cultivated by the farmer’s hands; the mountainous teas carry a unique flavor charged with components to inspire your tongue and mind alike.

Good for quiet introspection.
Good for gathering with loved ones.
Experience a moment in a cup,
A transient drop of eternity.

Sencha is a meditative experience.

Could we expand the word meditative to include calm in the midst of the quotidian?
I recall being invited to a cup of sencha and in the silence of not sharing a common language enjoyed the cup as a gesture of kindness. However ocha is magnetic; just as it pulled me to the table, a few minutes later it pulled the local postman to an adjacent chair. As he and the host shared not only a language, but the connection of place and time and all the daily activities of the neighborhood, they had lots to discuss. The silence was broken, the meditative sip and feeling of presence gone. However the power of this tea was strong enough to bond three human beings with an electromagnetic force equal to the meditative state.
Calm in the midst of un-calm. As you mentioned, "Like break and accelerator oddly working in harmonic conjunction..."
