Hi, I'm Vincent, a college senior at Duke University. I recently released a mobile app for tea enthusiasts, and I thought some of you might be interested in it. It's an all-in-one tea journal, tracker, and timer, available on iOS and Android for free. I made it for the tea community, and I hope it's a useful tool. Please let me know if you have any feedback. You can check it out at www.myteapal.com

More info about me: In 2016, I fell in love with tea and trained to be a certified tea art specialist in Chengdu, China. Upon coming to Duke in 2017, I started a tea club named Duke CommuniTEA. Over the past three years I've hosted around 100 tea related events, and more than 1000 people joined the club. I enjoy sharing my passion for tea and introducing tea culture to others.

Just downloaded. Really enjoy the design, here are my thoughts:

- So does it share via FB/reddit etc, and not on the app? interesting. Don't know if I'm as likely to do that

- Okay adding a new tea, some thoughts: for harvest year, it would be useful to also have options for "1990s" or "late 90s" rather than just a specific year, also I feel like allowing us to add/change types of tea because I'd like to differentiate between young and aged sheng puer, hk v tw storage, etc -- but totally get that others might not care

- I think some sort of sharing teas/etc would make adding new teas easier. I realize there might just not be any servers for the app, but some sort of compiled list of common teas would be super helpful.

- Going through the log -- while nice, I feel like it could intrude on the experience rather than add to it? I'll report back next session.

I went to log another tea, and I realized something else that I feel is missing: brand. In puer, a lot of teas are from a brand, but might be sold by different vendors.

Also missing:

Storage container
Storage conditions
Grandpa steeping
Multi-hour cold brew methods
Cup types
--‐------------------

I like the minimal and clean design. It can definitely be useful for some people.

However, this app isn't for me: reminds me too much of the baby schedule app i have where i log in the feedings, sleep times, etc ; or the exercise apps. These things already make me feel too much like a robot.

I agree. I think for me the primary appeal of this app would be to catalog the actual teas I have since I often go "oh wait i own that?" due to the way puer can stick around. The scheduling stuff and brew timing I think will interfere with my typical tea experience.
