Points well made & hopefully they will be well taken. "Form follows energy" is not something I know but is something to ponder.

It's a new twist on the old 'form follows function' phrase of architecture and industrial design. The hope is that rather than simply achieving a 'function' needed or desired by humans, design needs to do it with a net zero, or even a net positive energy-generating level of effiency.
