Tariffs on Chinese tea for the US are becoming a possbility, as soon as July if it comes to that.

Good times for other-than-Chinese tea importers!
Question is how will Taiwan be affected - as it is not officially recognised by most governments

Taiwanese goods entering the US are not subject to tariffs imposed on Chinese goods. In theory, any effects on Taiwanese teas will be indirect consequences of what happens to the pricing of Chinese tea.

Taiwanese teas shouldn't be affected, except for the fact that perhaps more people would be buying Taiwanese teas to avoid tariffs, raising demand.

That said... Since Chinese teas are unique and only manufactured in China, with little or no comparable substitutes, there's actually a good chance that an importer could successfully apply for an tariff exclusion. See e.g. https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/en ... Action.pdf
