This happens to be the perfect article, crisscrossing the 2 fields that are just so incredible to me. Chanoyu and Nihonto.

I think anyone would find this interesting as its such a major event in Japanese (TAD), history.

Markus Sesko is a well known translator and writer on the topic of Japanese swords and their history. The article gives you a slight insight in how well documented but also incredibly important the sword was in the history and development of Japan's social system. I can recommend anyone to another forum should there be any interest in the topic, and maybe someone already owns a piece.

Kinda offtopic: i once started a topic about my swords on teachat, any 'rules' or recommendations about linking back to it?

Member Jay is a collector traveling the globe with his sword gang right now :) Shortly we hope to have teachat archives linked to this site, so your older posts there will be searchable here. In principal members can link to other sites, as long as it’s not spam commercial self promotion.

Sad to hear of his demise, and I think we're all happy to have your sword thread continue here! I haven't gotten into katanas just yet, but I am currently training with Chinese jian (Han and Ming Dynasty reproductions) so I may go Japanese eventually since the katana evolved from Chinese swordsmanship. What I do pick up will be nothing as fancy as your nihonto, though!

I'm definitely going back to Spain! Deals keep popping up on my radar! I can fly there for less than a ticket to India!
