Popular Tea Brands in the U.K.
Finally, the survey gives insights into another great debate centered around tea habits: Which is the favorite tea brand in Britian? The data shows there is a tough rivalry between two brands: Yorkshire favorited by 26.2 percent and PG Tips by 26.1 percent.

Most popular tea brands in the U.K. include:

1. Yorkshire – 26.2 percent

2. PG Tips – 26.1 percent

3. Tetley – 13.2 percent

4. Twinings – 7.2 percent
Part of it might be due to the survey being done online, as Yorkshire's efforts seem to be mostly targeted online. Still a bit of a surprise for me, at least.

Apparently the knack for product placement goes way back -- spotted them in a 1983 episode of the game show 3-2-1 as part of a consolation prize Teasmade set for the losers. :) This would have been back when they were still known as "Prospect Foods Ltd.", I think, and were largely invisible outside of their local area. I imagine this made it a big advertising win for them even though they were not directly mentioned at any time.
