Enjoyed reading your profile on your web site. Looks like you carry some really good Darjeeling and Nilgiri. Having the ability to get samples is good too. I added to your TF profile your Instagram and Facebook links. More or less when do you think first flush will be available on your site this year?

Hi - missed this comment somehow, so apologies for the delay in response.

Ah FF sourcing! What I look forward to and dread at the same time. The prices of the early invoice teas have made me delay my sourcing. The dust is just settling and I'm actually headed to India in a couple of weeks. I would like to say May, but realistically it might be June before I physically have the teas with me. You can be sure I will inform everyone the second they reach!

Thank you for adding the links!

Good morning - this is Vikram at Yatra Tea Company! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

We have a new site, reviews (MANY thanks to those that have returned to retroactively add a review!), and most importantly, new teas!

We'd love for you to try our curated collection, so through Friday all teas (samples and full-sized variants) are available for 20% off with code "TWENTY" at checkout. While we're no longer offering a pre-set sampler, you have full flexibility to pick and choose samples of your choice to create your own tasting set!

- Darjeeling (https://yatrateacompany.com/collections ... darjeeling) - delicious semi-oxidized black teas from Goomtee and Thurbo, rarely produced white and oolong teas from Castleton, and vegetal, high altitude green teas from Glenburn and Gopaldhara. Gopaldhara's Mao Feng is new in shop and is a delicious, fruity smelling green tea - a must try if you like green teas!

- Nilgiri (https://yatrateacompany.com/collections ... on_nilgiri) - three new teas from the recent Winter Flush. Smooth, fruity, light black teas is a hallmark of Nilgiri winter production! Our selections are from Glendale, Kodanad, and Craigmore.

- Assam (https://yatrateacompany.com/collections ... gion_assam) - our sole offering from Halmari Estate is arguably the best Assam being produced in the region at present

- Nepal (https://yatrateacompany.com/collections ... gion_nepal) - our current offering from Sakhira Estate rivals the best Darjeeling teas - a must try for those who haven't experienced teas from Nepal!

- Chai (https://yatrateacompany.com/collections ... ction_chai) - no South Asian tea shop would be complete without a chai offering! Made with a Nilgiri black tea and fresh spices, this is an absolutely delicious chai!

Thanks for the opportunity to bring you these teas!

Have a good week ahead!

Recently returned from India and managed to bring back a delicious, early invoice Darjeeling First Flush Tea from Puttabong Estate. This is a March 2019 plucking from the DJ 04 invoice. Typically, I find early invoice teas a bit finicky and opt for the later invoices that tend to be more mellow.

But this one cupped beautifully. A lot of favors were called in to secure the small amount I have. A must try for aficionado and newbie and everyone in between!

Good afternoon. Hope you tea lovers had a nice weekend! To get your week started off on the right foot, Yatra Tea Company is offering a 20% discount on all teas now through end of day Friday. Code is TFORUM20. Or you can simply click on https://yatrateacompany.com/discount/TFORUM20 to have the code automatically applied at checkout.

Good morning tea friends. Hope my fellow Americans had a lovely 4th of July. We spent it in the Berkshires in the middle of the woods. I carried tea with me. Sitting outside in nature's lap sipping tea is a whole different experience. Highly recommend it.

We just finished sourcing new teas and now are awaiting shipping and hopefully a speedy, hassle free delivery!

This week, avail of Free Shipping on any purchase of $25 or more. Applies to domestic orders only. That's a saving of $4.49. Valid through Saturday July 13.

In stock are fine single source teas from some of South Asia's most iconic tea growing regions - Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, and Nepal. We have spent the time tasting several teas and curated the best ones for you!

Have a wonderful week!

Good morning from Yatra Tea Company (https://www.yatrateacompany.com)

I've slashed prices on a number of teas as listed below. I doubt you'll find the quality of teas I offer at these prices elsewhere, so this is a great opportunity to stock up or get to know us. Either way, a great deal! Reduced pricing will be in effect through Saturday.

Sampler - $18 (normally $25). Perfect way to get to know our teas.

Puttabong Darjeeling 1st Flush - 50 gm/100 gm currently $10/$20 (normally $14/$26). A quintessential floral Darjeeling tea

Lunar Masala Chai - $6 (normally $9). A spicy, lighter take on the traditional Indian masala chai

Castleton Darjeeling Moonlight Oolong - 25 gm/50 gm currently $6/$12 (normally $10/$18). A rare production from an iconic Darjeeling estate

Castleton Darjeeling 1st Flush white tea - 25 gm/50 gm currently $8/$16 (normally $12/$22). An experimental production, similar to the oolong

Kodanad Nilgiri Winter Flush black tea - 50 gm/100 gm currently $6/$12 (normally $10/$18). A smooth, fruity black tea

Thurbo Darjeeling 1st Flush - 75 gm currently $8 (normally $13). Only a couple of bags left. Set some aside from 2017 to age as an experiment and its done quite well

Goomtee Darjeeling 1st Flush - 75 gm currently $9 (normally $15). Another Darjeeling I attempted to age. Flavor profile has changed a bit since 2017. More mellow and soft

Gopaldhara Darjeeling Autumn Flush green tea - 50 gm/100 gm currently $7/$14 (normally $12/$22). A delicious, fruity green tea

Halmari Assam 2nd Flush black tea - 50 gm/100 gm currently $8/$16 (normally $13/$24). A quintessential, award winning Assam 2nd flush tea.

Hope to send some of these teas your way! Enjoy your week.

Hi tea friends. Vikram here from Yatra Tea Company. Hope everyone is doing well. 25% off with code 25%OFF now through Wednesday.

At Yatra, we curate teas premium grade single origin teas from India and Nepal. True we don't have an extravagant selection. That's because we can't afford to source every tea we come across. While that can be a bummer sometimes, it really forces us to select teas that check all the boxes - great flavor, truly premium, and exceptional value.

Browse our shop - there's something for every mood and palate!

NEW TEAS ARE UP ON THE SITE!

As always, this is a result of careful curation, and I hope you enjoy the tea's we've selected.

Two samplers are available - one a Darjeeling-centric sampler with 9 teas from the fabled region. Lightly oxidized black tea, medium oxidized black tea, white, oolong, green - myriad taste profiles. The second is a Beyond Darjeeling sampler, consisting of teas from Assam, Nilgiri, Sikkim, and Nepal - predominantly black teas at varying levels of oxidation.

Marangi Estate Assam - a Yatra exclusive! Grown for us by my friend, this exclusive offering is a quintessential Assam 2nd Flush tea with an abundance of golden tip. We were wowed by how smooth this Assam tea was. A must try for Assam aficionados!

Rohini Estate Darjeeling - a lovely light and sweet First Flush Darjeeling from the region's youngest estate. Leaves have undergone very minimal oxidation and the result is a soft, delicious, light tea. Compare and contrast with a similar early invoice Darjeeling from the region's oldest estate, Puttabong!

Goomtee Estate Darjeeling - slightly more oxidized leaves from a May production result in a delicious muscatel tea from Goomtee. Smooth and complex!

Temi Estate Sikkim - an organic tea from the state's only tea garden! This estate's tea compares well with Darjeeling 2nd Flush teas. Temi's produce is very sought after!

Sakhira Estate Nepal - if you've been following the teas we curate, this one needs very little introduction. Our third year sourcing from Sakhira, this tea never fails to impress. Similar is taste and appearance to Darjeeling First Flush teas, a tad spicier and heavier. One of our favorites!

Rong Estate Nepal - I'll be honest - I don't know much about this estate. But when my friend told me I have to carry some of it, I was sold without trying it. And I'm glad I took the chance! A very unique green tea - incredible dry leaf and infused aroma reminds me of mangoes. I don't think you can go wrong with this tea, if green teas are your thing!

Reasonably priced and carefully curated! Remember, 10% of our profits are donated to an NGO that provides educational opportunities for children of tea estate workers in Assam. So drink good teas and make a positive impact!

Thanks for reading. Any questions, let me know. And have a great week ahead!

Leaves have undergone very minimal oxidation and the result is a soft, delicious, light tea. Compare and contrast with a similar early invoice Darjeeling from the region's oldest estate, Puttabong!
