Good afternoon! Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

It has been rewarding to pack and ship orders and then receive some great feedback on our service and the quality of our teas. Please accept our sincerest thanks for the opportunity. As a sometimes two, often one person initiative, we've experienced our share of challenges and lows. But there is SO much to love about being able to source and provide our customers with high quality teas at reasonable prices!

Ok - now to the promotion! We at Yatra Tea Company (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop) dislike paying for shipping as much as the next person. We're also on a mission to have as many folks try our teas as possible. This means we're continuing to offer Free Shipping this week through Friday August 10 within the US (First Class Mail). Applies to new 2018 teas as well as our selection of 2017 teas which have been significantly marked down.

If you're curious about our teas, or want a taste of each tea we carry, try our 2018 sampler and 2017 sampler. Currently each sampler contains 10 gms each of 9 different single-estate teas from various parts of India and Nepal.

A brief description of our delicious 2018 teas:

Darjeeling - first flush sourcing is usually Darjeeling-centric for us; we have organic First Flush semi-oxidized offerings from Puttabong ("Ch Exotic") and Singbulli ("Thunder"). We are also thrilled to offer a mouth-watering white tea and seldom produced oolong tea both from the coveted Castleton Estate. And we round off our Darjeeling selections with a naturally sweet green tea from Glenburn, similar to what we sourced in 2017

Assam - thrilled to offer a tippy Assam from Marangi, my childhood friend's estate. This estate has been producing quality Assam tea for several years now. Not to be missed if you're an Assam lover

Dooars - our maiden offering from this region located in the foothills of the Himalayas is an organic green tea from Nuxalbari, quite different from others we have tasted

Nepal - last spring's offering from Sakhira was such a hit that we had to source from this estate again. Very different dry leaf appearance, still the same delicious taste profile that reminds you somewhat of a Darjeeling. We also sourced a lovely high altitude green tea from Himalayan Bliss!

While we primarily ship in the US, we have shipped to Canada and the EU. Drop us a line and we can discuss more!
Thank you for reading! Have a great week!

Good afternoon! Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. We woke up to abrupt cooler weather here in Boston. Frankly, no complaints from me. As much as I like guzzling cold brewed tea in hot weather, hot tea is what comforts me the most, and this rainy, dreary weather is perfect for a hot cuppa.

We're pretty excited about the feedback we have received since adding new teas to our lineup. We are trying to get as many people as possible to try our teas. As part of this ongoing mission, we're offering Free Shipping in the US (First Class Mail) through this Friday, August 17.

So what are we offering?

- Darjeeling (black) - we tried to highlight the subtle differences between First Flush Darjeelings through our sourcing of Puttabong ("Ch Exotic") and Singbulli ("Thunder"). Both organic estates, owned by the same producer, yet different

- Darjeeling (white) - we wanted to find a white tea that rivaled last year's production from Thurbo Estate (which we sold out in a heartbeat), and we are thrilled to have been able to source one from Castleton Estate

- Darjeeling (oolong) - it isn't very common to find a quality oolong, but this offering from Castleton created quite a stir. Seems to do quite well brewed western as well as gong fu

- Darjeeling (green) - last year's buttery, naturally sweet green tea from Glenburn really struck a chord with a lot of our customers, so naturally we chose to source from them again!

- Assam - I'm not surprised that Marangi's offering has been so well received. This isn't on the same level as a Halmari per se, but is produced using quality clones and is pretty smooth. Definitely worth trying if Assams are your thing

- Dooars - our maiden offering from this region located in the foothills of the Himalayas is an organic green tea from Nuxalbari, quite different from others we have tasted. We usually refrain from sourcing teas grown at lower altitudes, but this one stuck out in a good way!

- Nepal - last spring's offering from Sakhira was such a hit that we had to source from this estate again. Very different dry leaf appearance, still the same delicious taste profile that reminds you somewhat of a Darjeeling. We also sourced a lovely high altitude green tea from Himalayan Bliss!

Take a look at https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop!

Additionally, all our 2017 teas have been significantly marked down. ALL teas, samplers and full sized offerings, qualify for free shipping in the US. If you're in Canada or the EU and are interested in trying our teas, drop us a line and we'll figure out the most economical way of shipping to you!

Thank you for reading, and hope we get the opportunity to send you some of our teas!

Hello! Hope everyone had a restful, enjoyable weekend.

A genuine thanks for the continued support! This past week we had a fair bit of conversation with customers through IG and email. Positive comments about the quality and value of our teas were extremely gratifying! I get the credit, but it really belongs to a couple of childhood friends in India who coordinate the sourcing for me!

Through this Thursday August 23, we are offering:

1. 15% discount on all 2018 teas, including the sampler. High quality yet good value offerings from Darjeeling, Assam, the Dooars, and Nepal!

2. In addition, orders exceeding $39.99 (after application of discount) will ship for free in the US (First Class Mail)

3. 2017 teas are already significantly marked down and offer some excellent value. This is especially true for our Darjeeling teas (Goomtee and Thurbo) and Nilgiri selections (Glendale and Craigmore)

We have had inquiries from, and shipped to, Canada and the UK recently. If you're interested in ordering from overseas, drop us a line.
If you have any questions about our teas, do not hesitate to ask us here, or email us at info@yatrateacompany.com.

Visit us at https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop. Have a wonderful week!

Hello - hope everyone had a lovely Labor Day weekend!

Just realized I did not post our Labor Day sale here. While it has passed, through Saturday September 8 we're offering Free Shipping on any and every US order. Shipping will be standard.

There have been a few inquiries from outside the US, and we've been shipping to the UK and Canada in response to the interest. Unfortunately, we cannot waive the entire shipping fee. BUT, we will waive $3.99 on international orders so that dollar wise everyone gets the same discount!

The common theme we have been encountering in our growing interaction with our customers is that we offer great quality tea at extremely reasonable prices. Thanks - we'll strive to continue doing that!

If you're just hearing about Yatra Tea Company (https://www.yatrateacompany.com) , our 2018 and 2017 samplers are a convenient way to discover our teas. Or dive right into our full-sized offerings from our 2018 selection and 2017 selection of teas from Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiris, the Dooars, and Nepal. Either way we're sure you will not be disappointed!

Have a nice week ahead!

Sure feels like Fall here in New England the last few days! Not a bad time to start stocking up on your favorite teas from India and Nepal!

At Yatra Tea Company (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/), through Friday September 14, our entire 2018 selection (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop/?category=2018) including the sampler of 9 teas (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop/yatra-2018-sampler), is discounted by 20%. Carefully curated teas from Darjeeling, the Dooars, Assam, and Nepal.

Browse our already marked down 2017 selection (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop/?category=2017) for great deals on last year's stock. We are running very low on some items, so my advice is to act fast if something catches your eye! Needless to say they are well stored and kept.

Buyers outside the US - the discount applies to you as well. Reach out to me here or through our website so we can figure out a reasonable and accurate shipping rate to your destination. Regardless of where you reside, we'd love for you to try our teas, so we WILL work with you!

Have a good week everyone!

We're running an end of September promotion at https://www.yatrateacompany.com. 20% off with code FALL20 at checkout. Valid through the end of the month.

We've happily made exceptions for non-US shipping. The 20% discount would still apply, but you'd have to work with us on shipping cost. Message here or at info@yatrateacompany.com for more details.

Thank you for reading. Have an enjoyable weekend!

Hi everyone. Cold and rainy in Cambridge. Hope you're making the most of whatever weather you're facing with your favorite cup of tea!

Ok, let's start of October right!

20% off 2018 teas through Thursday October 4. No code needed. Applies to all full-sized teas as well as the 2018 sampler.

Lots of variety in our sourcing. Beginning with my personal favorite tea growing region, Darjeeling, we've sourced some delicious semi-oxidized black teas in Puttabong and Singbulli, both certified organic gardens, if that is your thing. Our Darjeeling sourcing isn't limited to black teas - Glenburn produces a crisp, clean high altitude green tea worth trying. And specialty Darjeeling tea is most definitely embodied in twin offerings from Castleton, a succulent Moonlight oolong and white tea.

We're starting to see a lot of good tea coming out of Nepal and feel like we definitely sourced two such teas in Sakhira and HImalayan Bliss. The former rivals Darjeeling First Flush teas IMO.

For Assam lovers, I invite you to try our offering from Marangi Estate - an estate owned and operated by my childhood friend, and one that produces quality clonal teas.

Rounding off our selection thus far is a green tea from the Dooars, courtesy of Nuxalbari Estate, a certified organic estate. Usually I stay away from lower altitude teas, but this one was especially nice.

Visit us at https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop. Hope we get the opportunity to send you some of our teas! Have a nice week ahead!

Greetings everyone! This is Vikram from Yatra Tea Company. Before introducing our promotion for this week, I thought it would be appropriate to talk a little bit about the region we focus on - India and Nepal.

You wouldn't be wrong in assuming that most tea produced and consumed in India is black tea. Given the preference of 1 billion plus people for basic chai, a lot of the tea produced in India is CTC Assam tea. A lot, but not all...

Our goal is to identify single estates that have the expertise and desire to grow specialty tea, be it black (with its various levels of oxidation), white, green, or oolong. Our range of estates may be small, but rest assured, we carefully curate what we source and sell. Basically, our mantra is "if we don't like and drink the teas ourselves, they're not worth selling".

I guess the purpose of this prologue is to inform interested and curious buyers that there is way more to teas coming out of South Asia than your staple mass produced, commodity black tea. Bringing you this range of teas is one the main reasons for our existence.

Ok - now the promotion! To encourage you to give our teas a try, we're offering a 20% discount on ALL teas. This includes our samplers from 2018 and 2017, as well as our entire 2018 selection and 2017 selection. The discount is valid through Friday, October 19. Visit us at https://www.yatrateacompany.com.

Happy to answer any questions you may have. Enjoy your week everyone!

Greetings everyone! Hope all had a restful weekend. Free standard domestic shipping (US) this week (through Saturday) at Yatra Tea Company! No minimums, no code.

New in store! Chai lovers, take note!

I am thrilled to announce our recent collaboration with Curio Spice Co (https://www.curiospice.com/), a local Cambridge, MA specialty spice shop. Our partnership has resulted in two chais:

First is our delicate yet flavorful Lunar (Masala) Chai. Rather than go the traditional route of blending an Assam CTC, we opted for a "softer", lighter Nilgiri black tea which our friends at Curio Spice blended with direct sourced and sustainably produced cassia cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon. ginger, clove, mace, and cardamom. The result is a delectable brew, warming yet not overpowering. Suitable for drinking at any point of day.

Second is a Kashmiri inspired traditional green tea known as Kahwa. This beverage is widely consumed in the Kashmir valley, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, often as a celebratory tea. There are multiple blends available, each reflecting local preferences and customs. Our Kahwa consists of green tea, expertly blended with Afghan saffron, sweet cinnamon, and rose petals. A delicious beverage perfect for cooler weather!

For those interested, Curio Spice is woman-owned benefit corporation, working to improve the lives of farmers. They specialize in direct sourced, sustainably produced spices from around the world. Owner Claire Cheney has traveled extensively, visiting spice farms and communities in over 12 countries over the past decade. Beyond thrilled to be collaborating with them!

Please note that both these chais have been produced in very small quantities. If you like the sound of these teas, give them a try. We will continue to produce more if these is suitable demand!

Of course, our core competence continues to be single origin, premium grade teas from India and Nepal! Browse our selection of 2018 teas and 2017 selections for a collection of artfully curated, premium single estate teas! We're currently sourcing a few more teas to be added later in November!

Thanks for reading, and hope we get a chance to send you some of our teas!

Good morning - this is Vikram from Yatra Tea Company! Hope all is well!

Last week we launched two new chais - our delicate yet flavorful Lunar Masala Chai (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop/lunarchai) and our take on a traditional Kashmiri green tea called Kahwa (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/shop/kahwachai). These two teas were a collaboration between us and Curio Spice Co, a woman owned public benefit company. Quite frankly, even though we were thrilled with the outcome, we were not sure what to expect. Well, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! So much so that we had to scramble to blend more far quicker than anticipated. So thanks for that!!

We're offering Free standard domestic shipping through Friday. Applies to the aforementioned chais, our 2018 single origin sampler, and all full-sized offerings from our 2018 and 2017 selections. Premium grade yet very reasonably priced single estate teas from Darjeeling Assam, Nilgiri, the Dooars, and Nepal!

TRAVEL ALERT: we will be in Hungary (Budapest primarily) and Ireland (Dublin only) starting this Saturday through Nov 20. Any Redditors interested in our teas from these countries, please contact us!
