New development on that one… turns out the flower was rather delicate and decided to take off after a steaming boil… currently refreshing the original Kintsugi repair, albeit with a simpler approach.

Thanks! Applied the gold powder last night… fortunately it only a refreshment was needed, so less waiting times required to repair.

Although it’s spoken for by now, I’m still sharing the just finished result of the Kintsugi refreshment.

But worry do not, more red(and more prestigious ones at that) are in preparation…

It looks so happy that little pot. Love it.

Looks much better than the original repair, and I think better than what the pot might have looked like unbroken, great job!

I always thought gold was mixed in with whatever holds the pieces together, but your pics inspired me to watch an instructional video to better understand what's going on. Now waiting for my next breakage with a little less apprehension.

Thanks @bliss & @teatray.

It’s a common misconception that gold is mixed into the binding agent. I blame the non traditional, artificial resin DIY sets… I also found that often times a little gold/silver repair actually improves the look of some pots quite a bit!

After the red ones, which did not make it into public offering, something in shades of brown is on the horizon…

Still in the process of refreshing a pre-existing Kintsugi on this lovely pigeon from the 70s - got to say I’m quite surprised by how nice this clay seems… similar level of refinement as 60s Hongni. Pictured after sanding down and before applying another layer several of lacquer.

And another yet to be photographed little Shuiping in Qingshuini, also 70s.

Watch this space…

…and it’s finished! Already too dark for better pics, more to follow.

Also the freshly cleaned 70s Qingshuini.

Continuing with Shuipings from the 1970s… this one double the size at about 80ml and in creamy Hongni.

Tomorrow it’ll go up alongside more pictures (light allowing)…

I am going to pick up a 70s Zini Apple this weekend... available soon. It's the medium brown, not dark brown/black kind.
Also considering to let go some Ming dynasty dragon cups >suspense mode on<
