Got my Akira Satake guinomi today. Am in love with it; the textures and tones, movement, perfect size, and light weight too. Yeah. The mustard yellow spotting looks like moss growing on a rock. iPhone shots for now to share.

What I find intriguing, under the impression that to capture a universe is most difficult in the guinomi, but most
rewarding, is how well balanced the raw, natural, untame embraces the intended, artistic, and behaving influences.
Thanks for championing his work, Victoria, it's a beautiful piece to add to your collection.

A big thank you to @Victoria for sharing Akira Statake's site. His ceramics are absolutely gorgeous. During the sale, I picked up a yunomi and plate from him. I cannot describe how much joy they bring my tea table teadesk  . The plate looks like my home state, so I figure no matter where I wind up, it'll represent where I've been. Funny little details can be found like that in teaware.

Definitely an artist worth following when sales are about...even without his pieces are very tempting!

@S_B you have a really nice collection going there. Is that a new shudei kyusu? Details? Looks like a perfect size. Love the Nevada shaped plate and new yunomi.

Yes! I picked up a Fugetsu piece that was lucky enough to slip through. It is 260ml - pretty versatile!

...Honestly, I may have to pick up another Yunomi soon...too many beautiful pieces!

I have admired Fugetsu’s work for a long time. Like Emu (Jozan IV) his sense of scale and proportion is perfect, and classic. It shows that he is a protege of Jozan III.

Really nice additions @S_B. Are they a similar weight and size to your other artisanal guinomi from AN? Can’t remember artisan’s name.

They are. All can hold roughly 85ml if filled close to the brim, but closer to 80 at a comfortable "full" fill. They are roughly the same size and weight to the Shibuya Eiichi Hagi cup, though I think the angles on the Akira Satake guinomi are slightly more comfortable to drink from (though that is completely personal preference)
