Rivulet Summer Chawan glazed with Ash Tenmoku with White Shino over, small Feldspar inclusions, fired to ∆10 in reduction...

I was enjoying a session with a calming shou puer from Hojo, the Wu Liang Shan, but I wasn’t happy with the way my beautiful and properly sized Shy Rabbit yunomi looked with the Seong-Il pot. I was browsing the ShyRabbit Etsy shop when I came upon this yunomi that looked as if it was intended to partner with my pot.

Like all of my ShyRabbit yunomi and chawan it’s even more beautiful in person than online.

The photo from the shop shows the interesting shape of the yunomi.

It is quite lovely, and I had a hard time deciding between that and one other in my most recent purchase from him.

I have (or have had, sigh) a couple of Shyrabbit pieces whose drama in his Etsy shop photos was typical of how they look in person, but I agree that a lot of his work is subtle and just grows more beautiful over time. I'm looking at you, little cup....
