Viking teapot FS

Learning to let go... this time and a first I am selling one of my own pots. Some might remember the thread that I started on the old forum “100 pots, a learning path”.

This one I called little Viking as the idea from it came to me when I saw an ancient Viking cup. The shape along with the handle looked so nice, so I just added a lid and spout and the teapot was done!

Clay is from Miaoli in Taiwan. Outside glazed in Shino crackling glaze. This glaze will gather a very nice patina with prolonged use.

Walls are medium thin. I have used this kind of pots a lot in the past and they do work quite well with all sorts of Taiwanese Oolongs. They need a short seasoning time to soak in a bit of tea, but then they do not affect the brew adversely.

Volume to be confirmed, but it should be around 150ml.

I am asking 80 USD for it. Plus shipping.

More pictures will follow...

No, with this kind of clay inside is never glazed, also the bottom outside of the pot is unglazed. I asked my teacher why once and he said it has to do with the expansion and that it would explode otherwise when fired.

Some motivation – if anyone is interested in the small Qinghua plates (viewtopic.php?f=28&t=672), I am willing to sell them individually, if bought together with one of my teapots on offer.

Individual dish is 15$.
