I'm very curious to know what your sheng puer tastes like when you brew it in a 180ml+ pot for 1 person.OCTO wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 1:56 amIt might be a consensus, but you’ll need to try it out yourself to determine if you like it or not.swordofmytriumph wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 8:50 pmHuh, seems the consensus is that it’s even better to do less.
Personally, 180ml is way too small for PuErh.
Cheers!
Steeping less than full capacity in clay pot
Taste just like how a Sheng Puerh should taste...Shine Magical wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 8:00 amI'm very curious to know what your sheng puer tastes like when you brew it in a 180ml+ pot for 1 person.
Meant to share that I also 3/4 fill a 350ml Jozan kyusu with FuShouShan, so the thick leaves can fully unfurl (filling to 225ml+-). What Shine Magical said earlier about heat being lost is true, although with the lid on it still retains a lot of heat. I also only partially fill this pot with some sencha, works well. In another thread this topic was also discussed.

Well, my house is always a comfy 68F. And honestly, I prefer my tea to steep a tad bit colder. More forgiving that way. Harder to oversteep. If i understeep it’s no biggie, just make it hotter next time. But once you’ve oversteeped that icky taste is just...bleh.
I’ll post my pots when they arrive.
