Tea-things to wish for.....

This is a topic intended for sharing things you admire from afar: not things you own, but beautiful or interesting enough to share with other teaware lovers. I'll start with a lovely Hagi chawan by Seigan:

I like the shape, the solidity of the feet contrasting with the delicacy of the glaze on the feet, the delicate shadings of pinks and purples and accompanying subtle texture of the glaze, and anticipating the development of the interior crackles, so nicely spaced.

Here is another, newly posted on Artistic Nippon....a blue kyusu from Yamada Sou, with a gray contrast raining down the sides....

I had seen these pots online but tbh wasn't that into them until I saw them in person. That blue glaze is really stunning, and pictures don't do it justice.

That blue pot in stunning in person. There's a shop in NYC that carries stuff by YS, including a full tea set with matching blue cups.

Something quite approachable in time and space, or cost....a pretty gaiwan set by Ray Morales. I really don't have a need for a gaiwan of this size.....so am just daydreaming a bit. Such a subtle lovely glaze.

This is also by Ray Morales, and would be a stunning companion to the gaiwan and cups I posted here a while back:

Feels like a grape arbor to me.

nice stuff, @debunix. reasonably priced as well.

i've had my eyes on the works of URAGUCHI Masayuki for a while now.
here's a nice article by Aoyama Wahei on Robert Yellin's site:
http://www.e-yakimono.net/html/uraguchi ... -2004.html

he is known for beautiful celadon (seiji):

but goes beyond classic styles:

and has created some super captivating, prismatic glazes:

Four years ago I stumbled upon Yuying Huang‘s chawan lavender field series that mesmerized me. I’m usually not into flashy things but those colors and details are something I would love to dive into and get lost every time I drink matcha. Sadly the Chawan was way out of my league back then and I was spending money on other things. But every time I start thinking about getting myself a new chawan I keep returning to this now sold out series as I can’t find anything that would sing to me the same way.
