My previous white porcelain covered bowl broke, and I am not used to using covered bowls. I am planning to buy a purple clay teapot or a cast iron teapot. As long as it is safe to use, any recommendations?

Just buy a Chinese teapot that you like. I bought my teapot long time ago in Paris in a Chinese store. The price was €1,55 and it's still going strong.

You might consider a teapot by Inge Nielsen instead. This is definitely preferable to a cheap Yixing teapot of dubious construction or a cast iron “teapot”. Her teapots pour rapidly, are exceptionally functional, are neutral, and do not risk poisoning you in the long term like a cheap “zisha” pot might.
