Hi there!

I am a bit curious if anyone have noticed any differences in terms of taste (muting or accentuating) between porcelain and glazed interior of gaiwans and teapots? There is many types of glazes and porcelain probably differs in terms om wood fired or industrially produced. But you get the idea.

Good ? Getting the answer is a challenge because thickness and shape of teaware also effect brewing.

Of course there will be a marked difference. Porcelain in general will be non muting. Glazed clay will in the majority be much thicker than possible with porcelain, so heat retention is an issue.

In your experience is glazed clay more muting or more accentuating?

Less accentuating.
