Please share your favorite celadon pieces!
I know a topic for Ru ware already exists, but I wanted to make a more general one.


I'll start with a Japanese seiji (青磁) guinomi by URAGUCHI Masayuki (浦口雅行) [b. 1964].
Mr. Uraguchi studied under MIURA Koheiji (三浦小平二) [1933-2006], Living National Treasure for celadon.


mass: 81g
volume: 69mL

I love the deep, serene color. It has striking reddish crazing (kannyu, 貫入), but the color is not showing up well in these pics.
Also, those little specks are actually flat white; they're not sparkly. They make it look kind of like coral.

Wow, stunning piece. Really nice reddish crazing contrasting the deep blue glaze. Perfect size too for tea in hand.

I've got a pair of very green small shiboridashi by Shawn McGuire of Great Wheel Studio:



The cup is Kazuwa copper red ware, not celadon.

And this is little jar is beloved not only for the beautiful celadon, but for its role as my chocolate-keeper. It lives next to the tea-tray (naturally!).



It's another piece by Inge Nielsen.

I received a gong fu set from my mother almost 20 years ago. I have no clue who made it. Pictured are the pieces I still use from it today—the cha he being used everyday. The pot design is quite interesting to me, but still very ergonomic in the hand. I was pleased to find the cha he fit my Kohokujo pot perfectly.

Purchased around 10 years ago in a shop in Beijing, two Longquan celadon teapots.

Could you please tell me if this is Japanese celadon? And for what tea would this probably be good?

That's a funky one... how big is it? Looks on the thick side. That will have more influence on the tea than the glaze. If glazed inside out, many teas should be fine in it – but I have had not so good experiences with some Japanese glazes, which did not fare well with higher temp teas.

The size is about 250cc. I will use it for Japanese green tea in this case - thanks. Any idea how old it is? And if the glaze could be problematic for my health?

That is huge for such a clunky pot! I don't think green will fare well in either, but only way is to find out and try. No idea how old or what this could be, never seen anything like this pot.

Could also be Korean. I like using thicker walled glazed pots as preheated pitchers to keep steeped tea warmer longer, and also to steep Darjeeling teas.
