Mine either doesn’t have that feature either, or I haven’t found it!? Maybe Victoria was referring to the bonavita?
Anyways I don’t need that feature, old school observation and listening will suffice. If in doubt one can always wait for the water to cook down.
I do need that feature, because too much of my brewing is distracted brewing. It's a very useful crutch for the attention impaired.
Yes, I was talking about Bonavita.
One thing worth noting about the Bonavita - great as it is - is that it's not great if you want a rolling boil.
The PID brings temperature up to setpoint without overshooting, so when you set the temp at 100C the last few degrees are kinda slow and it never seems to reach a violent boil.

Is there a difference that effects steeping between a "rolling boil" and what is just before that, bubbles, steam, etc.?Atlas wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2017 4:17 pmOne thing worth noting about the Bonavita - great as it is - is that it's not great if you want a rolling boil.

+1 The bonavita pauses a couple of times when water is getting close to the desired heat. When impatient, I will use a setting of higher temperature than desired for the first infusion (and pull the pot off when it is at the temperature really wanted; or for boiling water just not fill the pot much for the first infusion.
