Hi guys,

so I guess most of us have been eyeing and then not buying satetsu tetsubin. First due to their silver sheen and exclusivity, second due to their price :D . There's plenty of pictures of new ones, but I wonder if there is pics of Satetsu-Bin that have seen some use? Especially the interior. New ones will often have an urushi coating on the inside, rendering it black. But this won't last indefinitely, and I'm really curious on how they look after this has faded and the iron has been in contact with water for a while.

$4k USD could enhance my tea experience much more thoroughly if spent on something other than a tetsubin. Japanese iron isn’t especially good for engineering so I wonder what benefits, if any, this iron brings to water compared to less expensive Japanese iron.

I find tetsubin to be heavy and impractical. They are beautiful but unpleasant to pour water from.

I would expect the interior to look like a regular tetsubin based upon descriptions of satetsu tetsubin.
